A impressive and elegant building next to Merdeka Square. You can park your car at the Merdeka Square, and walk less than 3 minutes to reach the place. There is a dress code to enter the building, simply no short pants, sleeveless and slippers. Plenty of books you can find here, in fact you can spend the entire afternoon reading your favourite books there. Besides, they also have few computers and proper toilets. Overall amazing but underutilized.
This is a easy hiking trails, suitable for beginners and family with young kids. This is a huge park, there are few entrance from different locations. Besides hiking, kids can enjoy the playground as well.
A very traditional style pan mee. Been here (family operated stall) for years, they have upgraded the stall since 2 years ago, which is more comfortable now. Springy noodles (pan mee/yee mee) served in hot broth together with fried anchovies, fried onions and vegetables, totally yummylicious. They have soup and dry, personally I prefer the dry one, and their cilli taste good. Besides the pan mee, red bean soup is also a must try dessert.
A true hidden gem located in Shah Alam. It is quite a difficult trail for beginners, but it is worth it when you reach the breathtaking mirror lake. The place became popular especially during weekends, crowded but you need not worry about getting lost in the forest. We had our breakfast by the lake while enjoying the view.
An average hiking trail, there are many routes reach to different destination, it is advisable to get someone who is familiar with the place to hike together. The elevation of the hill can get quite intense at some area especially when it had rained recently. The entire trail might take up hours, therefore it's best to prepare some snacks. Overall it is a excellent place for a good hiking experience.
Beautiful scenery, easy trekking trail. Overall interesting trail, but you have to cross several wet (muddy and leeches) and dry paths to get to the waterfall (definitely worth it). Total trail to the waterfall is about 45mins (slow and easy, and you definitely take a lot of pictures along the way). Avoid weekends as it will be crowded and the waterfall is only a small area. Parking is about rm5 and limited.
No entry fee, just park by the roadside and hike. No permits required. Advisable to come early during weekends. This is an average hiking trail, suitable for beginners and families with kids. The entire trail take about 2-3 hrs, there are junctions along the way where you can take a different route. We managed to get to bukit botak but heard that now is no longer available, the octopus tree as well.
This is my favourite hiking trail located in Puchong. Usually crowded during weekends from 7-11am, therefore it's fine to come after 11am. Park your car by the roadside, and the trail starts from entrance "A", and end at entrance "B" (no worries, there is signboard). It is a kid's friendly trail (not difficult but adequate amount of exercise), but it will get muddy during raining season. There are food stalls nearby, you can enjoy your breakfast/lunch after your hike.
